About Diana Marks

Diana Marks was born and raised in Colorado. Fond memories include camping in national forests and hunting arrowheads on the plains. Her favorite childhood book was The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Her first year of teaching was in a small Colorado community near the border of Kansas.

Diana married Peter Marks, and they moved to the east coast. She again became a teacher, working with gifted children for more than 25 years. She taught every grade from grade one through grade eight. She also taught regular education and has worked in middle schools. She has also made presentations at many conferences, including the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association and the New Jersey Association of School Librarians.

She taught for over 36 years, the majority of that time for Council Rock School District, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, until she retired in 2010.

Now she is a consultant to school districts where she helps improve literacy. She continues to write. In addition to her five published books, she has completed a children’s book about a girl named Dahlia who helps animals and humans solve problems. She just needs to find a publisher! She is also working on another children’s book about a girl in the Revolutionary War and a girl in modern times who share a common house. She also visits schools and shares her passion for reading and writing.

Diana resides in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, with her husband Peter. They have two adult sons, Kevin and Colin. Diana loves to read (especially mysteries) and write.
